Principal Paul Shikhvarger, a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), adheres to the highest professional and ethical standards that are used by the ASA (American Society of Appraisers), the USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practices), and the NAJA (National Association of Jewelry Appraisers), of which he is a Member Appraiser.
Pacific Jewelry & Watches owner Paul Shikhvarger turned his passion for watches and jewelry into an enjoyable career and a thriving business. He first hones his craft by apprenticing under expert European watchmakers for several years, before studying at the GIA. Prior to launching his own business in the Jewelry District of Los Angeles in 2006, he worked for an online jewelry business evaluating watches and jewelry. As his reputation grew, and his clientele expanded to include many residents of Los Angeles, Paul moved his main office to the Brentwood area, where he enjoys working in a dynamic, family-friendly community.

I found my experience with Pacific Jewelry & Watches to be excellent. It's a convenient west LA location and the appraiser, Paul, was really professional. I came in with 2 watches to get updated replacement values for insurance purposes and his assessment process was thorough. The appraisal report for insurance came back in 24 hours. My husband and I went this place several weeks ago. We had visited two different gold buyers before so we had an idea how much our jewelry worth..... (I was looking for the jeweler that charge only 10% or so, but they charged 15~30% depends on the jewelry, so I was thinking that I should take them to Japan where I am from, or sell at eBay so this place was our last jewelry buyer we tried!) well, Paul (didn't know his name though) was very honest, and let us know eBay would charge 15% for jewelry and gold....and he charges about 10%. (i did the math, actually he charges a bit more....maybe 12~13%? it depends...) My husband was amazed and happy that we came in and sold his mother' jewelry and coin to him. I also sold some of my jewelries and thinking about coming back to Paul after I compare it is sold in Japan lol. I highly recommend this place to sell your gold jewelry! He buys 14 carat and 10 carat gold not only 18K gold;)
